This March, the timeless fairy tale of Cinderella comes to life on stage at Stadsschouwburg Antwerp. From 20 March 2027, Belgian musical producer Deep Bridge presents a fresh, contemporary adaptation of the much-loved story, bringing a magical blend of romance, humour, original music and spectacular scenery to the heart of Antwerp.

Imea Denooze takes centre stage as Cinderella

Rising Flemish actress and singer Imea Denooze steps into the iconic role of Cinderella. Following her acclaimed performance in Deep Bridge's production of Little Red Riding Hood, she takes on her first leading role in a major musical. Audiences may also recognise her from television series such as GameKeepers and BLUR, as well as her appearances with De KetnetBand. Joining her is Helle Vanderheyden as Cinderella's wicked stepmother. In a delightful twist, Vanderheyden previously played Cinderella herself in 2019. Now she returns to the fairy tale in a very different role, bringing wit, mischief and plenty of personality to the stage.

A classic fairy tale with a modern twist

Everyone knows the story of Cinderella, the young woman who refuses to give up on her dreams despite the challenges she faces. Living under the watchful eye of her cruel stepmother and stepsisters, she longs for a brighter future. When an invitation to a royal ball opens the door to an extraordinary adventure, her world changes in ways she could never have imagined. This new production gives the familiar story a refreshing perspective. Cinderella is no longer simply waiting for her fairy-tale ending: she is determined to shape her own destiny. With lively new music, dazzling sets and plenty of heartwarming moments, Deep Bridge transforms a childhood favourite into an uplifting musical for a contemporary audience.
